Kota Kinabalu (KK), located in Borneo Island is a perfect place to be, if you are not a fan of tourist populated area like me. Means of transportation in KK is Taxi as it is humid hot to walk around. They normally dont use meters and use fixed rate. On our last night, I overheard someone saying the city started using uber for a month now, therefore the other cheaper alternative to go around the city would be uber. Jesselton point is a ferry terminal, located at the edge of the KK City Centre, from where you can take a boat to the islands in KK. Three famous islands are Sapi, Manukan and Mamutik. It will cost you around 30 ringgit/ £5 or less for return ticket. You can choose to just go to one island or do island- hopping (will cost you more).
